JEDDAH PCG SERVES 651 FILIPINOS IN THE ASIR REGION
On 25-27 May 2011, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in the Asir Region, particularly, the twin cities of Abha and Khamis Mushayt, Najran and Jizan, KSA.
The Consular Mobile Services which took place at the Al Azizia Hotel in Khamis Mushayt, is the second to be conducted this month by Post after the successful conduct of CMS in Yanbu last 12-13 May 2011.
During the CMS, applicants from Najran and Jizan were accommodated because of the two cities’ relative proximity to Khamis Mushayt – all of which are part of the Asir region. This was made possible with the coordination of the Mr. Ronald Dela Cruz and Ms. Rosie Camacho, Area Coordinators of Najran and Jizan, respectively, with Mr. Virgilio Crisostomo, Area Coordinator of Abha and Khamis Mushayt.
The mobile team was able to process 568 ePassport applications, 22 passport extension, 44 notarials and 17 certifications.
The overall success of the mobile service can be attributed to the dedication, hard work and cooperation of the Consular Mobile Team composed of Vice Consul Mary Jennifer Dingal (Team Leader), Camaloden Guro, Joginder Capapas-Jacinto, Faisal Richard Tamano, Camama Mandangan, Jr. and Montaser Pasandalan, the strong leadership of the Area Coordinators and the unwavering commitment of Filipino community volunteers.
Services from the Consulate’s attached agencies, particularly, POLO-OWWA and Pag-Ibig, were also extended by their representatives who joined the consular team, namely Labor Attache Vicente Cabe, Welfare Officer Abdulwahab Jaafar, Hamdan Sayedy, Abdulbasir Sua, Pag-Ibig Rep Ruben Galamay and Muqrin Lomondot.
During the visit, Vice Consul Dingal was also able to administer the oath of the officers of two (2) Filipino organizations based in Najran, namely, the Najran All Filipino Sports Association headed by Mr. Faisal Mailao and the Filipino Community in Najran headed by Mr. Ronald Dela Cruz. She was likewise the Guest of Honor in the inauguration of the new building of the Philippine International School in Abha.
