CFO Conference on Youth Leaders in the Filipino Diaspora

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah informs that the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) in cooperation with the National Federation of Filipino Associations in America (NaFFAA) and the US Pinoysfor Good Governance (USP4GG) will be holding a conference on “Diaspora to Development: A Global Summit of Filipinos in the Diaspora” at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila, Philippines on 27-29 September 2011.

In this regard, in behalf of the CFO, the Consulate wishes to invite and encourage the participation of Filipino communities/organizations in Jeddah and the Western Region in the conference. Interested parties may visit the Cultural Section of the Consulate for more information on the conference (e.g. latest detailed conference program; various Diaspora to Development (D2D) components’ programs and workshops preference form; registration form and workshops preference form; and rules and mechanics for the participants).

Moreover, in recognition of their vital role in the country’s migration and development agenda, the CFO has also initiated a program for overseas Filipinos youths called Youth Leaders in the Diaspora or YouLeaD.

YouLead will take two (2) forms: first, a 9-day YouLead Experience where 100 Filipino youth leaders, aged 16-34 years old from across the globe, will gather on 22-30 September 2011 in Manila and Palawan;  and second, participation of the YouLead in the Global Summit.  Interested Filipino youth in the Kingdom may contact/visit the Cultural Section of the Consulate for copies of the invitation letter and guidelines for youLead participation in the YouLead Experience and /or in the Global Summit.
