286 FILIPINOS SERVED DURING

CONSULAR MOBILE SERIVICES IN TAIF

On 23-24 June 2011, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in Taif.

The Consular Mobile Services which took place at the Safari Hotel is the first to be conducted in Taif since the implementation of the ePassport System in Jeddah PCG on 24 June 2010.

Despite the tight schedule of the two-day activity, the Consular Team was able to serve some 286 Filipinos in the area and nearby places.  233 ePassport applications were processed, aside from two lost passport applications, one passport validity extension, 35 notarials, one authentication and 14 certifications.  The expeditious processing of ePassport applications though the Appointment System for CMS facilitated the handling and processing of individual ePassport applications.

The overall success of the mobile service can be attributed to the dedication, hard work and cooperation of the Consular Mobile Team composed of Vice Consul Mary Jennifer Dingal (Team Leader), Emmanuel Espineli, Abundio Fiedalan, Linda Cadiang and Camama Mandangan and also the strong leadership and able assistance of the Filipino community volunteers led by Mr. Edgardo Pascua, Filipino Community Coordinator in Taif, Overseas Filipino Workers’ Community of Taif, Incorporated (OFWCOM) headed by its Chairman, Engr. Generoso Dalisay, which acted as the overall coordinator of the CMS, and other Filipino community organizations,  namely, Guardians Brotherhood, Inc – Desert Fox Chapter, Guardians Brotherhood Inc. – Taif Chapter,  Kapamilya Filipino Expatriate Organization and the Insuns Taif Chapter.

Services from the Consulate’s attached agencies, particularly, POLO-OWWA and PAG-IBIG, were also extended by their representatives who joined the consular team, namely Welfare Officer Segundino Coretico and Abdulbasir Sua, Pag-Ibig Representative Ruben Galamay and Muqrin Lomondot.

During the visit, Vice Consul Dingal was also able to administer the oath of the officers of the Kapamilya Filipino Expatriate Organization headed by its President, Mr. Edgardo Realce.
