CONSULAR MOBILE SERVICES RETURNS TO TABUK;
SERVES 426 FILIPINOS
On 14-16 September 2011, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted Consular Mobile Services (CMS) at the Al Arabi Hotel in the City of Tabuk, approximately 1,010 kms. from Jeddah and located in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
During the two and a half- day activity, the Consular Team was able to serve some 426 Filipinos in the area and nearby places. 390 ePassport applications were processed, aside from 5 lost passport applications, 7 passport validity extensions, and 23 notarials. The expeditious processing of ePassport applications was made though the Appointment System for CMS which facilitated the handling and processing of individual ePassport applications.
The overall success of the activity is attributed to the coordination, cooperation and hard work of the Consular Mobile Team composed of Vice Consul Mary Jennifer Dingal (Team Leader), Ms. Joginder Capapas- Jacinto, Ms. Julieta Souribio-Khafaga, Ms. Cecilia Nuguit, Mr. Camama Mandangan, Jr., Robero Mutia and the able assistance of the Mr. Rogelio Mendoza, Tabuk Filipino Community Area Coordinator and Filipino volunteers headed by the Guardians Brotherhood International (GBI).
Representatives of attached agencies from POLO and PAG-IBIG joined the Consular Team to extend their respective service to those who require it, namely, Labor Attache Alejandro Inza Cruz, Welfare Officer Segundino Coretico, Pag-Ibig Representative Ruben Galamay and Mr. Abdulbasir Sua.
The Philippine Consulate looks forward to the conduct of the next Consular Mobile Services in the other provinces under the Consulate’s jurisdiction. The schedule for Consular Mobile Services for 2012 will be announced very soon.
