Guidelines on Passport Applications and Releasing
The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah would like to announce and reiterate the following policies and guidelines on the application and release of passports:
Renewal and Extension of Passports
The Consulate shall no longer extend the machine ready readable passport (green) as this is already being phased out.
The processing and release of the e-passport may take up to 30 days, those applying for renewal should apply as soon as possible to avoid inconveniences. They should take note of the six-month validity observed by most countries. This also covers Filipinos in the Kingdom going on vacation to the Philippines. As per policy of the Saudi Government, passports which will expire below the period of 6 months will not be granted an exit / re-entry visa.
The Consulate has suspended the appointment system for passport renewal applications for the meantime and has adopted a first-come, first-served system. Applicants need to apply personally and bring their original passport, photocopies of the front and back of the passport and SR240.00 for the processing fee.
Release of Passports
Applicants claiming their passports which are ready for release must bring the old Passport (original) and Official Receipt (OR). They may call (02) 668-9776 to check the availability of their passports.
Applicants who have lost their official receipt should present a notarized Affidavit of Loss for the release of their passports. Passports will not be released until the presentation of the Old Passport and Official Receipt (or the notarized Affidavit of Loss if the OR was lost).
The passports of minor applicants may only be released to either parent who signed the minor applicant's passport application form or to the minor applicant's guardian holding a Special Power of Attorney executed by either parent or both parent and notarized/authenticated by the Consulate.
The applicant who is incapable of claiming his/her passport, for a valid reason, may authorize a representative to claim his/her passport upon presentation of the following:
1. authorization letter indicating the reason why the applicant cannot personally claim the passport and the name of the authorized representative.
2. Copy of the Valid ID of the Representative
3. Official Receipt
3. Old passport (original) of the applicant.
The Consulate further reiterates that passports which remain unclaimed for six months or more from the date of issuance will be cancelled in compliance with Department Order No. 37-03 dated 23 September 2003.
Applicants who have not claimed their passports issued in the past six months or more may call (02) 668-9776 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
