Jeddah, 24 March 2019 – The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Makkah Branched, hosted a guided tour of Yanbu’s Flower Festival Park for the diplomatic community on March 21. MOFA-Makkah Branch Director General Jamal Balkhoyor welcomed the diplomatic corps who joined the tour, including Consul General Edgar Badajos and his counterparts from Indonesia, Korea, and Japan, and representatives of other consular organizations in Jeddah.

Prior to the start of the guided tour, the diplomatic corps was given accommodations of food and beverage at the Yanbu Waterfront and a chance for open conversations to further solidify new and already strong ties among the nations present.

Lead curators of the festival gave a refreshing review of the park through their lens of botanical education and in the care of the animals that were housed in the festival’s grounds. The park hosts an aquatic recycling aquarium, a greenhouse strawberry vegetation tent, an aviary, and an enclosed shelter for various breeds of butterflies.

Yanbu, a major Red Sea port in Al Madinah, hosts the flower festival annually to add a refreshing spring look to its land thanks to the organization of the Royal Commission of Landscaping and Irrigation Department in the city. END
