Filipino business groups explore possible business ties with Bin Dawood Hypermarkets
Jeddah, 9 February 2019 – Consular and Philippine trade officials led by DTI Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman, together with several Filipino business representatives, met with the management of Bin Dawood Group of Companies in Jeddah on 9 February 2019. Bin Dawood Group of Companies owns the Bin Dawood and Danube chain of hypermarkets, the second largest of such stores, in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia.
Bin Dawood CEO Engineer Ahmad AR. Bindawood and Development Manager Ismail Bin Dawood met with the Philippine delegation, and the two sides had a good discussion on establishing business ties in the promotion of Philippine goods in Saudi Arabia through Bin Dawood’s supermarkets.
The Philippine business representatives introduced their products to the company ranging from coconut water, various types of sauces, and skin care products. Mr. Ismail stated that he will consult with his team of analysts regarding each individual product prior to making any final decision.
The meeting ended on an optimistic note. Both sides were hopeful for a healthy and mutually beneficial business relationship with the support of the Philippine government through the Philippine Consulate and the office of the Philippine Commercial Attaché in Jeddah. END
