Starting on the evening of 02 April 2014, the Philippine Consulate General  (PCG) in Jeddah illuminated the façade of its chancery with blue light in observance of the 7th World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) pursuant to Resolution 62/139 which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and as requested by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).
On the same day, the  Consulate also uploaded in its website the NCDA logo and theme “Understanding and Embracing people with Autism” to intensify public awareness particularly of the Filipino Community in Jeddah and the Western Region on autism and stir public consciousness on the acceptability of persons with autism as members of society.
To draw more public consciousness of the event, the Consulate will continue to be blue and shall post the NCDA logo on its website until 9 April.  End.
