PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN JEDDAH VISITS VEHICULAR ACCIDENT VICTIMS IN SOUTHWEST SAUDI ARABIA
20 June 2018 JEDDAH – Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) officers from the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah visited the three Filipino workers who were injured in a vehicular accident that happened in Sabya Province, southwest of Saudi Arabia, on 13 June 2018. Two of the injured workers underwent thigh and knee surgeries. Two other Filipinos who were travelling with the group died in the accident.

the Al Emeis Hospital and Sabya General Hospital in Jizan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Consular representatives also facilitated and attended the burial of one of the fatalities, and started the processing of the required clearances for the repatriation of the remains of the other deceased victim.
The 5 OFWs were reportedly on their way to buy food for their Eid Al-Fitr celebration when another vehicle rammed their van.
The Philippine Consulate General reminds all Filipinos in the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be extra vigilant whenever travelling, to follow traffic rules and regulations, and to take necessary precautions before and during road trips. END
