Administrator Cacdac assured the wards that the government is doing everything to get them home at the soonest possible time per instructions of President Rodrigo Duterte. Administrator Cacdac also announced to the wards OWWA’s Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay Livelihood Assistance Program specifically for distressed OFWs repatriated to the Philippines. Under this program, distressed OFWs can avail of a Php20,000.00 livelihood assistance to start a small business. Consul General Edgar Badajos, for his part, urged the wards to avail the program. At the same time he urged them to use their time in the Consulate while waiting to be repatriated to study and plan what they want to do when they return to the Philippines. This way, the likelihood of success of the business that they will put up will be greater.
