ACCUSED RAPIST OF FILIPINA HOUSEHOLD SERVICE WORKER IN TAIF ARRESTED

18 April 2018, Jeddah – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah received information from its retainer law firm yesterday that the accused rapist of a Filipina household service worker in Taif has been arrested and brought to the Taif General Prison.

The victim is currently sheltered at the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (Bahay Kalinga), while the Consulate and its lawyers are closely monitoring the progress of her case to ensure that her assailant is brought to justice.

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah will continue monitoring cases of abuse against Filipinos under its jurisdiction and assist them in fighting for their rights under Saudi law. END
