PCG, POLO-OWWA IN Jeddah RepatriateS 32 FEMALE OFWs

Jeddah, 17 April 2018 - The Philippine Consulate General and POLO-OWWA in Jeddah had repatriated a total of 32 female OFWs since 12 April 2018. The OFWs suffered various forms of abuses and maltreatment from their employers. They were temporarily admitted at the Bahay Kalinga of the Consulate General while the Assistance to Nationals Section and POLO/OWWA negotiated their exit visas with their employers, recruitment agencies and concerned Saudi authorities.

Eleven (11) of the female OFWs left Jeddah on 16 April 2018 via Philippine Airlines. POLO/OWWA, through Welfare Officer Yolanda Peñaranda, provided airport assistance to the workers during their repatriation. END
