PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN JEDDAH AND THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN YANBU, KSA RESCUE AN ATTEMPTED RAPE VICTIM

(Jeddah, 17 April 2018) – A female attempted rape victim arrived at the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah today after she managed to leave her employer’s house two days ago.

The distressed worker claimed of being constantly sexually harassed by her employer. Members of the Filipino community in coordinated with the Philippine Consulate on how to properly handle her case. They provided her with temporary shelter until she was turned over to the Consulate today.

This is a perfect example of how close coordination between the Consulate and the Filipino community could save the lives of distressed workers and facilitate the resolution of their concerns. END
