PCG Jeddah Marks the Start of Women’s Month

01 March 2018 - The Philippine Consulate in Jeddah commemorated the start of women’s month through a short program during the flag lowering ceremony this afternoon. Consul General Edgar B. Badajos led the program by sharing with everyone the theme of this year’s month-long celebration which is “We make change work for women”.

“The theme emphasizes women empowerment – giving women the voice and the opportunities to contribute to and benefit from development and changes,” Consul General Badajos said.

Consul General Badajos highlighted the courage and strength of the Filipino women of the Consulate’s Bahay Kalinga in braving a foreign land to work for a better future for their family. “Saludo kami sa inyo. Hindi madali ang iwanan ang inyong mga pamilya at mahal sa buhay para magtrabaho sa ibang bansa katulad ng Saudi Arabia,” Consul General Badajos said. He further assured them of the Consulate’s continuous efforts to resolve their cases and ensure their return to the Philippines at the soonest possible time.
