(Jeddah, 29 May 2016) –The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Jeddah wishes to announce to the Filipino Community in Jeddah and the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that, in celebration of the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the theme, “Kalayaan 2016: Pagkakaisa, Pag-aambagan at Pagsulong”, and in collaboration with the Filipino organization partners of the Consulate, the following activities and events will be held for the Filipino Community at the Consulate’s premises, as follows:

These different cultural programs and activities aim to celebrate the Filipino ingenuity and talents by showcasing famous Philippine folk dances, songs, traditional costumes, and a lot of entertainment.

 

The Consulate General informs everyone that 12 June 2016 falls within the holy month of Ramadhan. Hence, the activities lined-up in celebration of this year’s Philippine Independence for the Filipino Community are being held before and after Ramadhan in deference to the observance of the holy month.
