Philippine Consulate General Meets Filipino Community in Khamis Mushayt and Conducts Consular Services
The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Consul General Imelda M Panolong, visited Khamis Mushayt, from 31 March to 02 April 2016 to meet the Filipino community residing in the area and to conduct Consular Mobile Services (CMS).
A Consular Team, headed by Deputy Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan, extended consular services to applicants coming from Abha, Khamis Mushayt including those from Najran, Jizan and other nearby areas. They were able to avail themselves of E-Passport encoding (new and renewal), extension of passport validity, notary services for various legal documents which included authentication, certification, Noted, NBI, application for marriage and travel document and Police Clearance, to name few. The team processed 1,060 applications/documents.
The Consular team also brought with them around 700 previously processed passports and documents for release to the claimants. Representatives from the Post’s POLO/OWWA, Pag-Ibig and SSS were also present to provide services to all.
Consul General Imelda Panolong, who supervised the conduct of the CMS, also held a dialogue with the Filipino Community leaders on 01 April 2016 at the Azizia Hotel (also the venue of the CMS) to address various concerns raised by the leaders including Assistance to Nationals and employment-related complaints of OFWs in that region. The Consul General was joined in by the Deputy Consul General, who will end her tour of duty in April. She bid farewell to the group after serving them for more than 3 years. Labor Attache Jainal Rasul, Jr. and Welfare Officer Rosemarie Cleofe also joined the dialogue.
More than 50 Filipino community leaders warmly welcomed the Consul General. During the dialogue, Consul General Panolong urged all kababayans to participate in the election process by exercising their right to vote during the voting period from 09 April to 12:00 noon of 09 May (5:00 pm Manila time). She also reminded everyone to always abide by the rules and regulations of the Kingdom to avoid any inconvenience and harm and to ensure a safe and comfortable stay in the Kingdom. END.
