03 May 2015 - Further to Press Release no. 03-15 dated 07 April 2015 issued by the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah in connection with the holding of the Qualifying Test for the 2015 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examination on 16 August 2015, the Board of Foreign Service Examination (BFSE) Secretariat of the Department of Foreign Affairs recently announced that the deadline for the submission of application forms is extended as follows:
17 June 2015 – at Foreign Service Posts, RCO’s and Satellite Offices; and
24 June 2015 – at the BFSE Secretariat Office, 2/F, DFA
The extension of the deadline of submission of application forms will give more time to applicants to complete their documentary requirements.
Applicants for the examination must be knowledgeable on the economic, political and social conditions of the Philippines, and must possess not only facility in oral and written communications, but also possess the personality traits essential to the performance of the duties of Foreign Service Officers. They must also be willing and able to accept assignments to any post where their services may be required.
The FSO Examination is composed of five (5) parts: (1) Qualifying Test; (2) Preliminary Interview; (3) Written Test; (4) Psychological Test; and (5) Oral Test. The Qualifying Test covers (1) Verbal Ability; (2) Analytical Ability; (3) Numerical Ability; and (4) Managerial Ability. Candidates must obtain a passing grade of at least 80% in the Qualifying Test in order to qualify for the Preliminary Interview.
Interested applicants may obtain application forms and other related information from the DFA website (www.dfa.gov.ph) or personally secure it from the Main Office or Regional Consular Offices (RCO) of the DFA, or from Philippine Embassies/Consulates abroad. END.
