"CALIDAD HUMANA", literally translated as the quality of being human and loosely translated as strength of character.  It is a deep and intuitive "concern for others" that comes naturally to the Filipino.  It is this concern that gives Filipinos strength in times of crisis and gives them a resilient and hopefull spiriti. Calidad Humana characteristics discourage priotizing material things, and focus on supporting the virtue of showing concern to others, which is apparent in Filipinos.

The movement is spearheaded by the Energy Development Corporation, First Philippine Holdings, Lopez Group Foundation, Inc. and the University of Asia and the Pacific.  It aims to preserve and strengthen a host of positive and constructive qualities such as humility, simplicity, friendliness, hospitality, and many others, which Filipinos are known for.
