20 October 2014 – On 16 October, the Consulate administered the midterm exams of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) for its Filipino students in Jeddah. The exam, which was
conducted at the Consulate’s PTIC office, was proctored by Consulate’s Cultural Officer and PTIC Assistant in order to ensure its full integrity.
Among the nine (9) examinees, six (6) took the exams for the Master of Arts in Nursing (N-204; N-207; N-261) course while the two (2) others, took in line with their Philosophy (Philo 1) and Rizal (P1 100) courses.

It was established in 1995 to provide wider access or opportunity to quality higher education by offering baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate degree programs and non-formal courses by distance education.
On top of its mandate to assist Filipino nationals abroad, the Consulate also extends assistance and support to Philippine tertiary institutions of learning by way of administering their periodic and admissions exam for their students and would-be students in its area of responsibility.
