Philippine Consul and Acting Head of Post, Alfred Kristoffer A. Guiang, delivers a message at the event

JEDDAH 20 September 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah personnel, together of members of the Philippine Professional Organization in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia (PPO- WRSA), held a coastal clean-up drive at the Buhairat Beach in Jeddah, in celebration of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA MO).

In his message during the event, Consul Alfred Guiang commended the Filipino Community for its unwavering dedication in saving the environment, especially the seas, through this clean-up initiative. Throughout the years, there is a noticeable decrease in garbage collected during the past clean-up activities, probably because of the yearly clean-up drive being held, which increased awareness of the public in its role to protect the environment and be responsible citizens of the world.

Among the garbage collected during the clean-up were aluminum foil used for baking, plastic bottles, tin cans, plastic wrappers, tetra pack packaging, towel, other non-biodegradable materials, and many others.

The Philippine Professionals Organization in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia (PPO- WRSA), headed by Mr. Willie Mendoza Araza, extended his gratitude to the members of Jeddah PCG for their continuous support of activities to save and protect the environment.
