Philippines Night staged at Jeddah Season 2024
JEDDAH 16 August 2024 – “Philippines Night 2024” staged at Jeddah Season 3, an event organized by the National Entertainment Center (NEC) and the General Entertainment Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (GEA), in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, was held at the Equestrian Club Jeddah on 16 August 2024, to the delight of the Overseas Filipino Community in Jeddah and the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian and the rest of the Consulate personnel were in attendance at the concert. Renowned Filipino artists Yeng Constantino and Erik Santos headlined the said concert, together with a support cast of Saudi-based Filipino artists.

A Philippine Booth proudly displayed various cultural attires, tourism destinations, and Philippine personalities during the event, such as the Ifugao people in their ethnic attire, Ifugao’s wooden bicycle, the Banaue rice terraces, the Philippine jeepney, together with pictures of Filipino personalities such as Manny Pacquiao, Carlos Yulo and Catriona Gray. The booth was designed by Jeddah PCG, together with the Overseas Filipino Workers Community Leaders (OCL) and the Philippine Professional Organization Western Region-Saudi Arabia (PPO-WRSA). The concert and the booth were highlighted during GEA’s push to further promote Philippine culture along with other Asian countries with large migrant population in the Kingdom during Jeddah Season 2024.

A day before the concert, Mr. Santos and Ms. Constantino paid a courtesy call on Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian at the Consulate. They also had their press briefing with the local media and a short meet-and-greet opportunity with the personnel of the Consulate and with the residents of Bahay Kalinga.
