PH Consulate General in Jeddah Conducts Consular Mobile Services in Yanbu, Neighboring Areas

JEDDAH, 01 September 2024 — As part of its mandate to deliver consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) conducted Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in Yanbu and other nearby areas on 30 to 31 August 2024 at the Hayat Radhwa Hotel, Yanbu, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

The consular outreach, led by Consul Alfred Kristoffer A. Guiang, was able to provide various consular and overseas voting-related services to Filipino nationals residing in Yanbu and other nearby areas. Representatives from the Migrant Workers Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA) and the Social Security System (SSS) also joined the mission to provide labor-related assistance such as verification of labor contracts, consultation for labor cases, and payment of OWWA and SSS premiums, among others.

During the CMS, Jeddah PCG also conducted a Town Hall Meeting and Information Caravan with the Filipino community in Yanbu and nearby cities to introduce to them the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of the Marcos administration. Consul Guiang expounded on the new initiatives of the administration, emphasizing the role of the Filipino community abroad in promoting the good image of the Philippines and as enablers of the country’s economic development.

A total of 434 transactions were completed during the consular mission, serving more than 400 Filipino nationals in the region.

Yanbu is a port city in the Al Madinah Province of western Saudi Arabia. It is situated on the coast of the Red Sea and is home to a population of more than 300,000 residents.There is an estimated forty-four thousand (44,000) Filipinos living in Al Madinah Province, which covers Yanbu. END
