11 Filipino Evacuees from Sudan Repatriated to the Philippines

23 May 2023, Jeddah – Officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) welcomed another batch of eight (8) Filipino evacuees from Sudan who arrived in Jeddah, KSA on 22 May 2023 through King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA)- Hajj Terminal.
The eight (8) evacuees were received by Post’s Evacuation Team headed by Consul Lemuel C. Lopez. The team also provided the evacuees with consular and ATN assistance (i.e. issuance of travel documents, exit visas, etc.), while the Migrant Workers Office in Jeddah (MWO-Jeddah) distributed financial assistance worth USD 200.00 to each evacuee.
Jeddah PCG also assisted three (3) Filipino Muslim male students in Sudan, who were previously stranded in Jeddah. The three students, together with the newly-arrived evacuees, left for Manila via Saudia Airline flight SV870 that departed Jeddah at 4:50 AM early this morning, 23 May 2023. They all safely landed at NAIA, Manila at about 20:45H (PST), and were assisted by the DFA staff upon their arrival.
