Jeddah PCG meets the first three Filipino evacuees from Sudan

Jeddah, 24 April 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian (photographed above left while being interviewed by Al-Sharq TV Saudi), welcomed the first three Filipino evacuees from Port Sudan during their arrival in Jeddah on Saturday, 22 April 2023. The three Filipinas (photographed above right while chatting briefly with Consul Lemuel C. Lopez), who are actually part of the crew of the Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight SV458 that was attacked at the Khartoum International Airport in Sudan on 15 April 2023, were among the group of 157 Saudi and other foreign nationals that were evacuated by the Saudi Government from Sudan, upon the recent royal order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud. On behalf of the Philippine Government, Consul General Auxilian expressed gratitude to the Saudi Government for extending assistance in bringing to safety the three Filipina flight attendants. END.
