Jeddah PCG conducts “Juana, Ikaw Na!” Wellness Session and
Livelihood Training for its personnel
Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 27 March 2023 - The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) conducted on 26 March 2023 a livelihood training session and wellness activity called “Juana, Ikaw Na!” for its personnel, in celebration of National Women’s Month.

Women and men personnel of the Consulate participated in the livelihood training session, which included training on food preparation, such as tocino, tapa, and longganisa-making, which the personnel may use at home or for future business endeavors. Chef Marines Nogoy of the International Community Training Center (INTERCOM), a Jeddah-based training center, conducted the training.

Simultaneous with the livelihood session was a wellness activity for Jeddah PCG personnel, which included free massage, spa, manicure and pedicure, etc. provided by the staff and students of Intercom Training Center. The objective of the activity is to help Jeddah PCG personnel relax and destress, even for one day, from the hustle and bustle of daily office work.

In his message, Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian said that the activity organized for Jeddah PCG personnel is a way of recognizing the importance of work-life balance, and that the workplace can also be a venue to capacitate personnel in other skills such as food preparation, which may be useful in the future, either at home or as an additional source of income.

Intercom is one of the active training centers established and managed by Filipino nationals in Jeddah that provide training programs to upgrade the knowledge and skills of OFWs as a way of preparing them for reintegration and empowering them. Most of its training participants are OFWs. The Consulate expressed its appreciation to Intercom for partnering with the Consulate and sharing its time and expertise in the activity.
This year’s National Women’s Month celebration has the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.” ---END---
