PCG JEDDAH CONDUCTS CONSULAR MOBILE OUTREACH
TO FILIPINOS IN ASEER PROVINCE, KSA
The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (PCG Jeddah) successfully conducted its third and last consular mobile services (CMS) for 2022 for Filipinos in Aseer region at the Sadeem Celebrations Hall, Abha on 13 to 15 October 2022. Abha is a major city under the Aseer Province in the western region of Saudi Arabia, which is home to 21,457 Filipinos. It is located around 658 kilometers (10 hours by land travel) from Jeddah.
Led by Vice Consul Lemuel Lopez, the consular team was composed of 24 Consular and Assistance-to-Nationals officers and staff members, as well as representatives from the attached agencies, namely, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Social Security Services (SSS).
The consular team was able to render a total of 1,055 consular services, consisting of 662 passport applications, 28 civil registration, and 320 authentication and notarial services, and 45 ATN-related matters filed by members of the Filipino community in Aseer and also from nearby provinces of Al Baha, Jizan and Najran that host approximately 14,006, 12,387 and 7,196 Filipinos, respectively.
Atty. Mohsen Omar Mahfouz of Tebyan Law Firm, a representative from the Tebyan Law Firm, Jeddah PCG’s legal retainer for ATN cases, was also present and assisted in attending to ATN legal cases during the CMS.
