Led by Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, the consular team included representatives from the attached agencies, namely, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Social Security Services (SSS).
During the two (2)-day event, the consular team was able to process a total of sixty-six (66) passport applications, three (3) civil registration, and twenty-eight (28) authentication and notarial services, etc. filed by the members of the Filipino community in Yanbu and neighboring areas, such as Medina, and Tabuk, who availed themselves of the services.
Providing support to Jeddah PCG’s consular staff, the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) team, also joined the mobile service to receive, document, and address the various ATN cases. Likewise, a representative from the Tebyan Law Firm, Jeddah PCG’s legal retainer for ATN cases, was present, and assisted in answering inquiries on and resolving ATN cases during the CMS.
During the CMS, a household worker was rescued from her employer. Under the one-country-team approach, the ANS team worked closely with POLO-OWWA and DSWD Attaché, and negotiated with the employer for the payment of her unpaid salaries and other benefits as well as for the issuance of final exit visa, needed for her repatriation to the Philippines.
Consul General Auxilian expressed his deep appreciation to the Kaakibat Civicom International Overseas Yanbu Chapter of the Filipino community in Yanbu for the great support and assistance they extended that ensured the success of the mission.
