Philippine Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian said that the inaul’s intricate weaves and diverse patterns and designs reflect a rich cultural heritage and tradition, and spellbinding artform that the Maguindanao provinces and nearby areas are known for. “The inaul has also become a distinctly Filipino cultural artefact, which is now used in important Muslim and non-Muslim activities such as traditional celebrations, fashion shows and significant events here and around the world. Clearly, the inaul is a source of Philippine pride and a reminder of our original, untouched, and unadulterated Filipino culture,” Consul General Auxilian added.
