Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian calls on His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Aseer Region

Jeddah, 21 January 2022 – Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on the Governor of the Aseer Region, His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Consul General was received at the Aseer Governor’s Office in Abha, capital of Aseer Region, on 12 January 2022.

During the cordial meeting, Consul General Auxilian extended his gratitude to His Royal Highness in ensuring the safety and well-being of the estimated 21,800 Filipinos living in the Aseer Region, most especially in the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Consul General also expressed his thanks to His Royal Highness for the quick approval of Jeddah PCG’s scheduled consular outreach in Abha on 13-15 January 2022. His Royal Highness noted the existing close relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of the Philippines. He also expressed his high regard for Filipino workers, stating that “Filipinos deserve respect and are not to be abused”. He then offered his assistance in deploying the Governorate’s security, health, immigration, and labor officials during the consular outreach so that various concerns of Filipinos present at the consular outreach could be addressed right away.

Consul General Auxilian also congratulated His Royal Highness for Aseer’s impressive socio-economic development in the last three years, and for Saudi Arabia’s keenness in implementing projects to support its Vision 2030. END
