JEDDAH PCG JOINS THE 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (VAW)
28 November 2021, Jeddah – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG), in support of the 18-Day Nationwide Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), held a VAW-Free Program during its flag-raising ceremony on 28 November.
Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian addresses Jeddah PCG personnel and reminds them of their duty to uphold and promote a Violence Against Women-free Community.
Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, in his inspirational message to Post’s personnel, underscored the importance of advocating for a VAW-Free community, and encouraged the personnel to be active participants in building a humane, just, and violence-free society. “In this campaign, let us continue to work together, not only to end violence against women, but also to collectively empower all Filipino women to be an integral part of our community and nation building,” Consul General Auxilian added.

Jeddah PCG’s VAW-Free program included a “VAW-Free Commitment Wall,” where the personnel wrote their commitment to promote a VAW-Free community. Afterwhich, they were asked to tie an orange ribbon to the “VAW-Free Tree” to symbolize their support for the activity.

The VAW-Free Commitment Wall and VAW-Free Tree will be made available to the public on the duration of the campaign, from 25 November to 12 December. Jeddah PCG clients are encouraged to write their contribution to support a VAW-Free society on the VAW-Free Commitment Wall.
