PCG Jeddah and Jeddah Lady Eagles Club conduct Coastal Clean-Up Drive, in celebration of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness (MANA) Month
Jeddah, 27 September 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (PCG Jeddah) co-organized a Coastal Clean-up Drive with the Jeddah Lady Eagles Club (JLEC) on 24 September 2021. The area covered by the initiative is the coast of Buhairat Public Beach in Obhur, located on the north of Jeddah, KSA.

The coastal clean-up activity was participated in by aspiring members of the said Club, and PCG Jeddah personnel.
In her message, Attaché Atty. Chares Marie R. Torres-Elacion encouraged the participants to continuously engage in environmental protection activities that would help improve the quality of living of the present and future generations. “With the fast degradation of the sea and bodies of water in many parts of the world, the future of all living things might be at a quandary, and it is high time to act quickly and immediately,” Ms. Elacion added. She added that the initiative puts into the forefront the importance of unity and synergy between the Filipino community in Jeddah and the Consulate.

The Coastal Clean-Up Drive is an activity in celebration Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness (MANA) Month which has the theme: “Iisang Bangka Tayo: Unity in Times of Uncertainties.”
