Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian
24 September 2021, Jeddah – The Jeddah PCG’s officers and members of its staff welcomed its new Consul General and Head of Post, Mr. Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, who arrived in the Kingdom early morning of Friday, 24 September 2021.
Prior to being assigned in Jeddah PCG, Consul General Auxilian served as Minister and Consul General and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and UN Habitat in the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Nairobi, Kenya, which has jurisdiction over Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Comoros, Seychelles, South Sudan, Somalia, Burundi, and Malawi. He served in Kenya from 17 June 2019 to 22 September 2021.
Other Philippine foreign posts he was assigned to include the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, USA (as Consul and Acting Head of Post); Philippine Consulate General in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, USA (as Consul and Acting Head of Post); and, Philippine Embassy Extension Office in Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany (as Second Secretary, Consul and Officer-in-Chargefrom 2003-2008, Third Secretary and Vice Consul and Officer-in-Charge from 2001-2003).
In his 24 years of service at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Consul General Auxilian held various capacities such as Director of Economic Diplomacy Unit (EDU) at the Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER) from 29 December 2017 to 16 June 2019; Acting Executive Director, Office of Protocol (OP) from 11 August 2010 to 29 September 2011; Acting Director for Central Europe, Office of European Affairs (OEA) from 12 January 2009 to 10 August 2010; Assistant Director, Office of ASEAN Affairs (ASEAN) from January 1998, to February 2001; and, as Principal Assistant in the Policy Division of the Office of ASEAN Affairs (ASEAN) from January to December 1997.
Consul General Auxilian is accompanied in Jeddah by his wife, Dr. Maria Vita Ecalnir-Auxilian, his two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Janina and Sofia Marie Vanessa E. Auxilian, and mother-in-law, Mrs. AmelitaEcalnir.
Consul General Auxilian is the 11th Consul General in Jeddah. END.
