THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN JEDDAH REPATRIATES
326 DISTRESSED FILIPINO WORKERS TO THE PHILIPPINES

11 July 2021, Jeddah – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) led by the Assistance-to-Nationals Section (ANS) arranged and processed the repatriation of three hundred twenty-six (326) distressed and stranded Overseas Filipino Workers from different parts of the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. Jeddah PCG partnered with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO-OWWA Jeddah), and the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché (OSWA) in overseeing a smooth operation during the said repatriation process.

Jeddah PCG oversees the repatriation of 326 distressed overseas Filipino workers
in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.

The passengers of the repatriation flight were composed of Filipinos with medical conditions, including one (1) stretcher seat case; families; minors; stranded Filipino workers; workers with expired visas; and other distressed Filipinos. These passengers were provided free meals, personal protective equipment (PPE) kit, and cash gifts.

The repatriation flight was done in coordination with the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs and was funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines. – END
