KABABAYANS UNDER THE CARE OF JEDDAH PCG RECEIVE COVID-19 VACCINATION FROM THE SAUDI MINISTRY OF HEALTH
JEDDAH, 3 June 2021 – Overseas Filipinos (OFs) under the care of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) received Covid-19 vaccination on 2 June 2021 after a team of medical doctors from the Saudi Ministry of Health went to the Consulate to administer the first dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Saudi government’s mass vaccination of OFWs under the Consulate’s custody was a response to the Consulate’s request to the Saudi government, which was coursed through the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to provide Covid-19 vaccination to both male and female OFWs who are temporarily under the care of the Consulate.
Consul and Acting Head of Post said that the request for vaccination was made to protect OFWs and to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to other Filipinos, both Consulate clients and personnel. “The intervention of the Saudi government has also provided our kababayans access to the much sough-after vaccine, which is being rolled out by the Saudi government to both Saudi and non-Saudi citizens,” Consul Dingal added.
