JEDDAH PCG HOLDS ONLINE PAMANA QUIZ SHOW IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH 2021
30 May 2021, Jeddah – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) held on 28 May 2021 the Online Pamana Quiz Show, a virtual contest of knowledge on the Philippines and everything Filipino, in celebration of National Heritage Month 2021.
The quiz show, which was hosted by Mr. Marciano Par, Jr. of the OFW Cooperative Council, included games such as “Ano ang Laman ng Kahon”, “Isang Tanong, Limang Sagot”, “Name That Tune”, and “Unahan sa Pagsagot”, among others, with contestants coming from the different Philippine schools in Jeddah as well as the Filipino public who tuned in and joined the contest on Jeddah PCG’s Facebook page. Subject matter of the quiz show included Philippine geography, history, culture, and arts, among others.
Consul and Acting Head of Post Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, in her speech, said that the activity is a fun and enjoyable venue to make the Filipino public reconnect with our Filipino heritage and culture which are tangible proof of our collective identity, and develop in the process a stronger sense of nationalism and patriotism.
“We Filipinos should be proud to have such a blessed country with its rich history, and the confluence of different cultures which make up our Filipino identity. This intermix of influences plus our archipelagic geographical situation have made us a creative, adaptable, and resilient group of people, admired and emulated all around the world,” Consul Dingal added.
The Online Pamana Quiz Show is a project of Jeddah PCG, in cooperation with the Philippine International Schools Teachers Association (PISTA) and the OFW Cooperative Council (OFWCC). -END-
