Statement on the Implementation of the
Saudi Labor Reform Initiative (LRI)

Jeddah, 14 March 2021 - The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah welcome the implementation of the Saudi Labor Reform Initiative (LRI) effective today, 14 March 2021.

The initiative will initially apply to all expatriate workers in the private sector except those in the five categories of a private driver, home guard, domestic worker, shepherd, and gardener or farmer.

A Virtual Forum on Labor Mobility and Human Rights between concerned Philippine government officials and their Saudi counterparts will take place in April 2021 to discuss the initiative and its impact on expatriate workers, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Relevant information from the said virtual forum will be disseminated once available
