Reopening and Final Submission of Nominations for the
3rd Huwarang Overseas Pamilyang Pilipino Award (HOPPA)
for Jeddah and the Western Region
(Jeddah, 10 December 2020) - The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) and the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (K.S.A.) announces the reopening and final submission of nomination for the 3rd Search for the Huwarang Overseas Pamilyang Pilipino Award (HOPPA) for Jeddah and Western Region. Deadline of submission of Nomination Forms is at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 16 December 2020, at the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché.
The HOPPA event aims to recognize overseas Filipinos in Jeddah and the Western Region who serve as model families in society and to emphasize the services created out of these events to address the adverse and negative effects and impact of migration that continue to threaten the survival of families.
The year’s celebration coincides with the theme of the 28th National Family Week held last 21 to 27 September 2020, “Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino” with sub-theme, “Mapagkalingang Pagtugon at Proteksyon sa Bawat Pamilyang Pilipino Mula sa Mga Suliranin sa Gitna ng Pandemyang Covid-19.”
This 3rd HOPPA search is open to all OFW Filipino families, including solo parents, who emulate traditional Filipino values, and strong family ties. The model family nominees this year must have contributed in helping other Filipinos in the community, both locally and abroad (including the Philippines) during the pandemic. They must also actualize the importance of compassionate response to other Filipino overseas workers and Overseas Filipinos in distress, in the midst of pandemic. Any OFW or Filipino community organization in Jeddah and Western Region may nominate for the award.
The Culminating Night will be held on 23 December 2020. It will bring together the HOPPA model family winners; HOPPA partners, volunteers and sponsors. The 2020 HOPPA winners will receive a Plaque of Recognition and cash award and other incentives. (END)
