PCG Jeddah holds virtual GAD Forum:
Kumusta ka, Juana?
Women guest-panelists during the GAD Forum
Jeddah, 12 November 2020 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah held its first virtual Gender and Development Forum entitled, Kumusta ka, Juana? Mga Kwento ng Katatagan ng Kababaihan sa Panahon ng Pandemya, on Thursday, 19 November 2020; at 6:00 p.m., via Zoom/Facebook Live.
The guest-panelists during the forum were remarkable women from both the Consulate and the Filipino community who come from different backgrounds and disciplines, namely: Welfare Officer Yolanda Uy Penaranda; Welfare Officer Marlyn Jamero; Social Welfare Attache Annabel Oidem; Dr. Precious Lazaro, a General Physician at the Jeddah National Hospital; Debbie Jane Pangan, a Laboratory Specialist/Phlebotomist, and also the Assistant Area Coordinator of the Asir Region and a News Correspondent of TFC Balitang Global; Darlene Monterey, a Charge Nurse at the Cardiac Surgical ICU at Madinah Cardiac Center and a Coordinator of the Philippine Nurses Association in Madinah; Erika Mae Bella, a Dental Nurse and the Founder of the OFW Bayanihan Jeddah; Miracle Tapado, School Principal of the International Philippine School in Jeddah; and Mofiedah Daknash, a Media and Research Analyst at Jamjoom Production and Distribution.

During the GAD Forum, the guest-panelists shared their personal stories on how they coped with the challenges brought about by COVID-19. They also revealed some of the issues they confronted and how they overcame these in their respective workplaces. They shared ideas on how to strengthen one’s mental and physical health in times of crisis.
