PCG Jeddah holds its 2nd Balitaan at Talakayan virtual meeting-dialogue with the Filipino community

Jeddah, 3 November 2020 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held its second Balitaan at Talakayan, a series of virtual meetings-dialogues with the Filipino community in Jeddah and the Western Region on 29 October 2020 via Zoom/Facebook Live, with the theme, Recalibrating the Strong Partnership between the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino community under the New Normal. The first one was held on 20 August 2020.

In the second edition of Balitaan at Talakayan

The meeting-dialogue was attended by following Jeddah-based Filipino community organizations, namely: Philippine Professional Organization (PPO), Philippine Nurses Association Jeddah (PNAJ), Health Alliance Training Center (HATC), Philippine International Schools Teachers’ Association Jeddah Chapter (PISTA), Jefrey Sales Estrada Technical Institute (JSETI)/ Jefrey Sales Estrada Karatedo International (JSEKI), NAP Awitin-Pedregosa Company (NAPCO)/ NAP Awitin-Pedregosa Karatedo International (NAPSKI), Total Care International (TCI), OFW Council of Leaders (OCL), Nationalist Alliance of Migrants (NAM), and Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association of Jeddah (APO-Jeddah)

In his opening statement, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos emphasized the value of the Balitaan at Talakayan Series with the Filipino community as an effective way to find areas of common concern for probable joint projects in the coming year.

During the virtual meeting-dialogue, Consulate officials including Vice Consul Lemuel Lopez, Vice Consul Sheila Mae Briones, Social Welfare Attache Annabel Oidem and Assistant Labor Attache Herminigildo Daytoc, gave updates on the current programs and projects of their respective sections/units. They also answered queries from the audience which were posted on the Facebook page of the Consulate General during the live broadcast.

The next virtual meeting-dialogue with the Filipino community will be scheduled in December 2020.
