PH CONSULATE GENERAL IN JEDDAH REPATRIATES FIFTH BATCH OF FILIPINOS IN WESTERN KSA

JEDDAH, 12 October 2020–– The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah successfully repatriated another 263 Filipinos based in Jeddah and other parts of the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 11 October 2020 via a Philippine Airlines (PAL) chartered flight. The chartered flight is expected to land in Manila today, October 12, at around 2:05 P.M. The repatriates are among the thousands of OFWs who have been economically displaced due to the Covid19 pandemic.

Consul General Edgar B. Badajos said that the repatriation of distressed OFWs in Jeddah and the Western Region of Saudi Arabia is part of the Philippine government’s ongoing efforts to bring home overseas Filipinos who would like to be repatriated because of the economic difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.–END-
