Jeddah-based OFWs finish vocational programs, urged to be innovators in a fast-changing world
Jeddah, 9 March 2020 –Twenty-eight (28) OFWs in Jeddah completed their training and received on 28 February certificates for completing the massage wellness, cosmetology, and hairdressing courses. The graduates, who hold regular day jobs, underwent several months of training conducted by Sangguniang Masang Pilipino International Incorporated (SMPII)-Jeddah Chapter. The graduation ceremonies took place at the La Parilla Restaurant in Jeddah.
Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, through Vice-Consul Alfred Guiang, commended the graduates for going the extra mile to acquire additional vocational skills despite having regular jobs. He urged them to continue learning and to be innovators in their respective fields to be able to survive the demands of a fast-changing world. The graduates were also advised to save capital and use it to set up their own businesses back in the Philippines which will not only redound to more earnings for them but also contribute to the Philippine economy. –END—
