Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah receives textbooks from Rex Book Store for its Community Library
JEDDAH, 13 January – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah (Jeddah PCG) yesterday, 12 January, received textbooks from Rex Book Store, one of the oldest educational book publishers and bookstore chains in the Philippines.
Rex Book Store representatives, together with officials of the International Philippine School in Jeddah (IPSJ), handed over the book donations to the Consulate during their call on Consul General Edgar B. Badajos. Said donation is for the Consulate’s Community Library which was launched in October last year to promote love for reading through traditional media among the Filipino Community in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.
Consul General Badajos thanked Rex Book Store and IPSJ for supporting the learning initiatives of the Consulate and hoped for sustained collaboration between the government, the academe, and the private industry in promoting personal and professional development to the Filipino youth through learning.
Rex Book Store recently held faculty development sessions at the IPSJ to enhance capacities of Filipino teachers in providing quality education to Filipino students in the said institution, which holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest Philippine international school in the world. –END-
