Jeddah PCG convenes Asian Consuls General Club Working Group meeting to discuss cultural promotion activities
Jeddah, 19 November 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah on 18 November 2019 convened another technical working group meeting of the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC) to further discuss the action plans for the various Asian cultural promotion activities set in December this year until March next year.
As this year’s Coordinator of the Club, Jeddah PCG tabled for discussion the action plans for three major projects, including an Asian Food Festival, an Asian Film Festival, and an ACGC bowling tournament to be held next month. The activities aim to promote the various cuisines and films of the individual ACGC member countries, and to strengthen relations among the personnel of the ACGC consulates.
Through the Asian Food and Film Festival scheduled in February 2020, the ACGC member countries hope to showcase and feature their culinary traditions, as well as their rich cultural heritage to Saudi audiences.
As Chair of ACGG, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos encouraged the ACGC working group to coordinate and synergize their efforts to ensure the success of the activities. Consul General Badajos envisions a more revitalized Club with cultural promotion activities that would strengthen greater people-to-people exchanges and cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and the member countries.
The ACGC is composed of thirteen (13) Asian countries namely, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. –END—
