Jeddah PCG administers oathtaking of officers of OFW leaders group
Jeddah, 10 November 2019 – Consul General Edgar B. Badajos administered the oath of office of newly-elected officials of the OFW Council of Leaders (OCL), an umbrella group of various Filipino Community Organizations in Jeddah and the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In his brief remarks after the oath-taking ceremony, Consul General Badajos thanked the group for its untiring support to the Consulate’s programs and services for OFWs in the Kingdom’s Western Region. “The volunteerism spirit of our FilCom leaders and groups in KSA enables the Consulate to better address the concerns of our kababayans in distress. We hope to have an open and continuous communication to make sure that our efforts are in sync with one another, all for the benefit of our OFWs,” Consul General Badajos added.
After the oath-taking, consular officials led by Consul General Badajos held a dialogue with the various Filcom leaders to discuss some issues and concerns of the Filipino community regarding consular services and other related matters.
OCL was founded on July 7, 2015. Currently, it has more than 60 member Filipino organizations. Its goal is to unite other Filipino organizations and support each other’s activities, projects and programs. Mr. Venecio V. Legaspi is its Director General for the period of 2019-2021. –END—
