PCG JEDDAH PERSONNEL JOINS THE Philippine professionaL organization (PPO) IN COASTAL CLEAN – UP DRIVE
(Jeddah, 20 October 2019) – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah participated in a Coastal Clean-up Drive organized by the Philippine Professional Organization in the Western Region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (PPO-WRSA) along the stretch of the Buhairat Public Beach, Obhur on 18 October 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. The clean-up drive was participated in by around 30 Filipino professionals who work as medical doctors, dentists, architects, engineers, nurses, etc. in Jeddah, as well as by more than a dozen personnel from the Consulate.

In her inspirational message, Atty. Chares Marie R. Torres-Elacion, the Head of the Consulate contingent which jointed the activity, requested the participants to say to each other, “Mabuhay ka, Kabayan!” for taking part in the laudable activity in caring for the environment. She added that “it feels good to connect with each other, as it is when we are with nature. Sadly, the use of plastic – a material designed to last forever – has been widespread, that a substantial amount ends up as marine litter.” She urged them to promote the importance of clean-up drives and make cleaning the environment a habit, without waiting for someone to do so.

and awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Engr. Tim Francis A. Albis, President of PPO-WRSA.
A Certificate of Appreciation from the Consulate was awarded to Engr. Tim Francis A. Albis, President of the PPO-WRSA, a commendation for their socio-civic activity. In addition to Atty. Torres-Elacion, the Consulate Department of Foreign Affairs - personnel, who took part in the event include, Melvin C. Saromines, Sittie Zubaida U. Murod-Malang, Mary Ann A. Hipe, Nadia D. Benito, Aleah Jehan P. Balindong, Jesusa F. Villanueva, Ashurry A. Macasindil, Victor D. Galanza, Abdulsalam D. Tanggol, Rosendo C. Pedraza and Naser M. Amino. The participants from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Jeddah (POLO-Jeddah) are Raymund K. Leonor, Francisco P. Saguinsin and Abdulhassan A. Abdulhalim.
