Jeddah PCG chairs Asian Consuls General Club – Technical Working Group Meeting to discuss Asian cultural promotion projects in Jeddah

Jeddah, 8 October 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah on 7 October chaired the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC) - Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting to discuss the action plans for the various Asian cultural promotion activities for 2019 until 2020.

Jeddah PCG, as this year’s Coordinator of the Club, tabled for discussion three major projects such as the Asian Food Festival, the Asian Film Festival, and the ACGC Bowling Tournament. The first two projects aim to promote the various cuisines and films of the individual ACGC member countries, while the bowling tournament aims to foster camaraderie and good relations among the personnel of the ACGC consulates.

With the forthcoming Asian Food and Film Festival scheduled on February 2020, ACGC member countries, including the Philippines, will be able to showcase and feature their culinary traditions, as well as their rich cultural heritage as reflected in their respective films.

Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, as this year’s ACGC Chair, envisions a more revitalized Club with cultural promotion activities that would strengthen greater people-to-people exchanges and cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and the member countries.

The ACGC is composed of thirteen (13) Asian countries namely, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. –END—
