Jeddah PCG Conducts Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in Aseer Region
Jeddah, 29 September 2019. As part of its mandate to deliver consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah rendered Consular Mobile Services (CMS) for Filipinos in Asser region on September 26 - 28. The CMS was held at Abha Palace Hotel in the city of Abha. Aseer region is located in the southwest of Saudi Arabia. There are an estimated 60,000 Overseas Filipino Workers in the region based on 2018 figures released by the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
The Consular Team successfully processed close to nine hundred passport applications and numerous requests for travel document and legalization of documents.
Representatives from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Pag-IBIG, Social Security System, and the Office of the Social Welfare Attaché (SWAT) also joined the consular mission to offer their respective services. A separate team from the Consulate’s Assistance-to-Nationals Section replied to queries and requests for assistance from distressed OFWs.
With the assistance of local Filipino community volunteers led by Mr. Virgilio Crisostomo, the Consular Team successfully conducted the CMS, Jeddah PCG’s second in Aseer region for 2019. END
