Jeddah PCG hosts lunch-meeting of Asian Consuls General Club in Jeddah

 

Jeddah, 19 September 2019 – Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Jeddah PCG) Consul General Edgar B. Badajos recently hosted a lunch-meeting among the Consuls General of the member countries of the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC). Consul General Badajos hosted the meeting in his capacity as the newly-designated Coordinator of the Club.

During the meeting, the members discussed possible projects and activities for 2019. Among the projects they considered were an Asian Film Festival and an Asian Food Festival. The Club also agreed to hold an inter-sports fest sometime in December.

Consul General Edgar B. Badajos said that it is high time that ACGC become more aggressive in its cultural promotion initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom is also opening up to the world. “As Coordinator, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah aims to revitalize the Club and further intensify its efforts in promoting greater people-to-people exchanges and cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and the member countries,” Consul General Badajos said.

The ACGC is composed of thirteen (13) Asian countries namely, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
