Consul General Badajos pays a courtesy call on the
Governor of Madinah
(Jeddah, 18 September 2019) – On 17 September 2019, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Madinah, HRH Prince Faisal Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the meeting, the Governor had only good and kind words for the Filipino community in Madinah. He constantly referred to our more than 60,000 kababayans there as "industrious and hardworking" and great contributors to the social diversity and economic dynamism of the province.
Consul General Badajos raised some concerns involving some Filipino workers in Madinah. The Governor assured Consul General Badajos that his office will look into these concerns in coordination with the provincial labor office.
The Madinah Province covers the governorates of Madinah, Al Hunakiyah, Mahd Al Thahab, Al-`Ula, Badr, Khaybar, and Yanbu Al Bahar. Its capital, Madinah City is approximately three and a half (3½) hours from Jeddah by land. According to the latest figures provided by local authorities, there are at least 60,000 Filipino workers in the area, most of whom are working in the medical field.
