Jeddah PCG meets with the Filipino community in Najran
(Jeddah, 8 September 2019) – On 7 September 2019, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos met with the Filipino community in the southwestern city of Najran at the sidelines of the Consular Mobile Services (CMS) mission in that city held from 6 to 7 September.

During the meeting, the following Filipino community organizations were present with their respective leaders: United Filipino Organization in Najran (UFON) led by Engr. Florentino Laxamana; Najran All Filipino Community Sports Associations (NAFCSA) led by Mr. Paisal Mailao; Najran Filipino Community (NFC) led by Mr. Domingo Palinis, Samahan ng mg Pilipino sa Najran (SPN) led by Mr. Jinie Ugadan; Tau Gamma Phi led by Mr Rian Tampus; Guardians Socialite Society Inc. (GSSI) led by Mr. Jayson Ellan; Guardians Bona Fide for Hope Foundation, Inc. (GBHFI) – 1 Ganap led by Mr. Alcher Suaso; and Supreme Guardians Legioner International, Inc. (SGLII) led by Mr. Teodorico Capistrano.
Also present during the meeting were Mr. Paisal Mailao and Ms. Nemencia Marcos, Filipino Community Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of Najran, respectively.
During the meeting, Consul General Badajos hailed the contribution of the approximately 7,850 Filipinos in Najran, most of whom are working in the medical field. He likewise thanked the organizations present for their unwavering support and assistance for the programs and activities of the Consulate. He urged them to closely coordinate with the Consulate in providing assistance to other Filipinos, especially those who are in distress.

Najran is the capital of the province of the same name. It is located in the southern part of Saudi Arabia. Najran City is around 926.10 kms. from Jeddah; approximately 10 hours and 17 minutes by land, and 1 hour and 45 minutes by plane.
